This week on The Shake Up Podcast marks the first episode of a very important month long dedication and an even more important topic; LGBTQ+ history month! Joining Jarrad Bell (Mr. Consistent co-founder and host) is Christian Nimri.
Christian is a Gold Coast local who has been welcomed into the LBGTQ+ community with open arms. Although this part of his life wasn't the easiest to open about, he now wears his identity as a badge of honour and hopes to inspire those around him to do the same.
Christians personal journey contrasts between the hardships he's faced and the triumphs with owning his truest self. It has created a sense of awareness that allows for growth, understanding and support for the community.
There were many monumental moments in Christians life where he found himself at a crossroads yet deciding to take a leap of faith and began a part of his journey that would be groundbreaking. It started with Miami Marketta's Drag Bingo that happened to transform him into a full fledged performer being cast in Gold Coasts Pink Flamingo show called Flamboyance. Best part about it is it just keeps getting better for Christian.
The awareness and personal journeys shared is detrimental in paving the way for the future of the LGBTQ+ community and I plan to stand by the community to promote change, acceptance and love.
